Hi Linda,

Your new house sounds wonderful. Great location near your mother and away from all those city lights! I know what you mean about "where did all of this stuff come from?" It's amazing how quickly we accumulate stuff. Here's where I don't have your patience. I know I have a ton of stuff so I think I would just back a big dumpster up to the door... LOL LOL

I'll look forward to hearing all about your new night sky. smile

Wendell, I'm sorry to hear that you had a thunderstorm. We have had overcast skies and storms here as well. Maybe next year's Perseids will be greeted with clear skies!

» Satirie - Delightfully informative!

You have a comfortable way of writing that comes across in the reading, Tina. (not sure that made sense, but...)

It's fascinating to go outside, look up and see lights soaring across the sky in a straight line, while the arc of the Earth seems to be out of line with it. It's the strangest thing. Another strange thing (at least to our neighbors I'm sure) is hubby and I out in our lawn chairs at 4:00 am eagerly watching upward. We haven't done that in some time, hopefully, I can remember your article and do so again. smile

Thank you, Genia! I appreciate your kind words. It's nice to see a happy post to end my topic. I have enjoyed your wonderful topics as well. I know they will be missed.

I had to smile when you mentioned wondering what the neighbors think seeing you and your husband out at 4:00 AM looking upward. I know what you mean. Distances between stars can be measured by extending your arm and using your fingers. For instance, the distance between the pinky and the thumb when the arm is extended is about 25 degrees. When measuring in this manner, I've wondered what that looks like to a passerby. Perhaps they think this odd woman out in the dark is trying to hail the mother ship? LOL

I wish you clear skies - keep looking up!
Tina smile
