Also, I just heard one of the experts being interviewed on CNN who likened the effect of the impactor hitting Comet Tempel 1 to a "gnat hitting a Mack truck." I had read that they were sure there was no risk of altering the comet's course, but this puts a perspective on it that I wish I had known when I wrote the article. I would have included it!!

I heard about this several days ago but your article explained things much better. I heard that some people had a "blink" in their electricity about the time of impact last night. Wonder if it was related?

Thank you, Joy! I did a search to see if I could find any information about a "blink" in the lights, but I came up empty. I can't think of a reason why it would be related. I think it may have been a coincidence. However, I'm not a scientist, so I may well be wrong. I'm glad you brought it up - I am curious about it! I will keep my eyes open. If come across any information about it, I will post it.

I hope if any readers have any information that they will post it or drop me an email.

Yes, I heard their comment about the nat and the truck. That was rich. Perhaps they did not say it earlier, because they, themselves, were not 100% sure.
