Yeah,

there's a full moon on the 12th. That pretty much takes care of that, which is why I hope to send folks scurryin' into the darkness for late July Perseids with my next article. At that time, there are enough Perseids, coupled with activity from the Aquarids and Capricornids to warrant all-nighters. And there'll be Mars!!!

The Perseids actually get started around the second week of July. Perhaps a tad earlier. Very few at first, a few a night, but it is interesting to watch 'em build throughout the month, heading toward August...
