» Brightlite - Alzheimer's Disease I read an AP article re use of clioquinoline being tested on 50 Alzheimer's patients by Dr. Ashley Bush of Mass. General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The drug binds beta-amyloid, copper and zinc and showed a 51% reduction in the plaques they cause. He said he believes this indicates that "the brain can heal, can cler out themess, if you get the plaque out of the way." All of the patients testing the drug are being carefully monitored for any possible side effects. They have mild to moderate Alzheimer's and researchers expect to bring in more patients before the study is done a year from now.-- posted by Brightlite
