Hi Karen, I work as a Pharmacy Technician for a big chain, and I see a lot of the drug Aricept being dispensed. Aricept is fairly new, it is not a cure, but supposedly it slows alzheimers down. I'm still waiting to see positive results from this drug. I have first hand knowledge of alsheimers disease and I hope in the near future they find a prevention for it, it is terrible to know somebody that has it.

Hello Karen

My sister's wedding is coming up in Boston, and she tells me that MOST of our old coot relatives have some degree of Alzheimers (I think I have mentioned that it does run in my family, particularly among the once witty ones.)

So I think I'm going to be paying very close attention to your article and your topic til a prevention is found!!!

Anyway, about healing of another sort, I hope you will visit my current Web Women, Julia White. Link to the article is in my sig, below.

Hello Emma, I'm glad you visited. My next article is on Aricept. A relative of mine is now taking it and seems to be doing better. At least it seems that she is not progressing as fast and is less depressed. Each new drug brings better results.

ec, everyone has "old coot" relatives. And yes it does run in families. I have often thought that if I was diagnosed with AD that I would end my life. A controversial statement that perhaps should be a topic of discussion here one day. I am trying to give an overview of Alzheimer's before I get into some more controversial topics such as Euthanasia, Nursing homes, Suicide, etc. I will visit your site as soon as I recover from my vacation!

Hi Jade, I work with Alzheimer and they all use Aricept to slow down the disease. One was taken off for a while and the person regress quickly so they put them back on it.
If you can find any information on Alzheimer and any activities that are good for them please let me know about it. Thank you
