Paul there are several clones of this about, some are rubbish. Others are self sterile some set seed very well. Sheila, does yours set seed?

Hi, no Gary, mine have never set seed. They don't multiply very much either..
But they do flower every year. How strange.

do you remember back in '98 when a society told we Australians we were all talking rubbish about clones of this? They claimed; wrongly, that there was only one clone in the entire world.

Save us from book experts who have a PhD in anything other than growing and flowering their bulbs.

When it comes to authors, I put my faith in the U.K. ones and in America, John baby.

Thanks for the offer on the papillio. I will take you up on some bulbs of it. It'll be a good way to find out whether I have a clone that doesn't flower, or just the wrong conditions for it to flower. A very good way to find out.

Ray, what do you mean when you say yours haven't flowered, but the last ones have?

My father has given me the Amaryllis Virus! lol! I am looking for different varieties to buy or trade. I read the post when searching for papilio. Five dollars sounds like a price I could live with. I have many Clown amaryllis & wanting to get different varieties! Can anyone here help? Thanx.
