» Gary - the little I know

Alas Rose,

this is all I have on this wonderful plant.

It is a member of the Liliaceae family.
It grows to around 80cm. when content.
Having Asphodel-style basal tufts of foliage from bunches of thin brittle tubers. Pyramidal inflorescence of many rich glorious blue stars with yellow anthers.

I would guess, and I do mean guess, that this should be well suited to your area.

I have searched the web, to no avail.

Perhaps you could ask the bulb robin if anyone is growing it.

Mine became either too water logged or too dry and have died.

Taxon: Pasithea coerulea (Ruiz & Pav.) D. Don
Genus: Pasithea
Family: Liliaceae. Also placed in: Phormiaceae

Perhaps the climate here in exteme Geelong was just that?

Are yours showing any sign of flowering Rose?

Thanks Gary.
I just did a Google search for them. Guess what turned up? Me, asking you on Nov 1st 1999, the same damn question!
I wondered because I have just unpotted the original pot in which I sowed the seed. Came across 'netted strands' with tiny bulb-like things in. So just thought I'd check to see if they grow as stolons or what. Will let you know how they go when I repot them. Fingers crossed I havn't wrecked them by tipping them out.
