In response to message posted by RoundRob:

Hi Rob, Mary

My "normal" L. canadense have done very poorly - dying back almost to ground level before making any buds. The leaves on my "Editorum" seem a little wider than the species, but not much. I certainly think the one I have has the "type blood", and yes Mary, the colour in the pic is pretty true. The reverse of the petals is more striped with areas of distinct yellow on the inner three petals and the rest being that bright orange. Nothing at all like the "brick red" the books say to expect.
