John I continue to be amazed at the information you bring us about a subject I never even knew existed. Thanks for all the research you do to bring us these little pieces of history.

In response to message posted by phoehne:

History is actually quite fun when you get down to it--or is it fun when you enjoy it? I know I don't consider studying microbial organisms fun, but I know some people who love it and love finding new things when they do. So, latch on to what you love and learn as much of it as you can. That's what makes learning fun.

And sometimes you have to admit "I erred. Here is some new information I found."

Thank you for the tip/lead. I will look into this further.

Amazing, the more you learn, the more you learn you don't know.

This is one fascinating topic, no?

» H2O - Sad news

I was saddened to hear of the fatal crash of the Chalk's airways plane in Miami's harbor. I did not realize that this was the first fatal crash in Chalk's history. So Raymond in "Rain Man" could have offered Chalk's as an "option" in addition to Quantas.

My prayers are with the greiving families and survivors of the victims.

Will this mean the end of the flying boats? Will Chalk's continue if the flying boats can no longer be used?
