In response to wow... I feel dusty....Hi!
WOW! What a year you have had. It's wonderful to "hear your voice" again, though. I hope you will be able to squeeze us all into that busy schedule again from time to time. We have a couple of new voices but have lost the rhythm of regular communicating since you last visited.
I will add you and your mother-in-law and your family to my prayers.
Many Blessings,

Spell check???? LOL---actually I did do a spellcheck thing---maybe I do better without it--who knows--maybe Java crept in--I sometimes get that with my hotmail account--I type in perfectly great looking e-mails, everything looks fine--but then my friends complain that they couldn't make heads or tales of my message--sure enough, I look at my "sent" letters and the message looks like it was written in a foreign language---

SORRY..I need to replace a graphics card to enjoy photos..even to read text with dark background. That I have to highlight to be able to read.
I have been very busy out and about, mostly on advocacy work..but also enjoying our early summery spring. This was the week that trying to do too many things at once caught up on me...so I rested, even piked out on a family birthday party.
My priority at the moment is trying to help a mate deal with our welfare agency and that involves lodging an appeal to the Tribunal..going to the hearing..homework beforehand. Brain work.
Melanie...I watched an Aussie telemovie 'Little Oberon' the other night..great actress Sigrid Thornton..where a cat was called...pyewacket..and it jogged me to check in.
You seem to be wading through it..more steps ahead than backwards or sideways...so continued good luck.
Cheers
Jeff

» humanbloom - agoraphobia & homebound help
I noticed you have a few sites that are related to helping people with agoraphobia and panic disorder. This site has helpful resources and forum for people living with agoraphobia , homebound, or housebound. Its main idea is to build an agoraphobic community and to provide links that will make thier lives easier. I hope that you will consider it. http://www.humanbloom.com-- posted by humanbloom

Hi,
Thanks for the link. I will definitely check it out once I am unpacked and settled in here. I have bookmarked the site, but want to study it when I am less frantic. After two weeks with no computer, I am wading through 400 plus emails. Agggh.
Thanks again for sharing this with everyone.
Many Blessings.

Once again it's been awhile since I've been here---my mom was in the hospital again, from Oct. 27th to Nov. 10th--she had a nasty fall, but delayed her medical help for it, since she kept walking out of the ER, not once, twice but three times, and was ready to walk out again--as it was the whole time she was in the hospital, they had one of those monitor, beeper tracker things on her wrist to make sure she didn't waltz out of the hospital. Since July, I HAVE been in contact with Jill, the woman who will send her vet down to do the lovely task of putting down a vast majority of the cats--for awhile there, it did look like some people were taking an interest in adopting them, which was why I held off--the whole lousy thing of it, is the age factor of the cats---if they were cute cuddly kittens they'd be adopted lickety-split, but most are in the 8-year and up range--it's going to be my lovely task too, to decide which ones to let live and keep and who gets to go to the land of Bast--the whole thing sucks to have to make this decision--
On a HAPPIER note----congratulate me---the day after my birthday, which was November 19th, in which I celebrated my big 5-0, I did something I hadn't done in fifteen years---I went to a movie~~~~~YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!---went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire---and I managed to see the whole thing--I was originally psyching myself out, that if I only stayed an hour that would be okay--but I stayed the whole 2-1/2 hours---i wish I had gotten the 'nerve' to see a movie when Lord of the Rings was out--oh-well---I'm next dying to see the Chronicles of Narnia--I read those books years ago, and loved the 1988 BBC version--so can't wait to see the movie when it comes out DEC. 9th
Still working on a grant and am hunting around for more to work on. I found a great other website for us artistically inclined and writers--http://www.zoetrope.com --especially The Virtual Studio--it's great for all of us artistically inclined. Give it a check--it's where I hang out lots of times--until next time~~Melanie

In response to Re: Re: Re: Wot's that on the road...a head? posted by PyewacketWizard:Hi Melanie! Belated birthday greetings and apologies for late response. Congratulations on your successes.
I'm sure each one will get easier for you.
It'd have to be hard to adopt out the cats.
Don't they develop social groupings so that being parted or attempting to live in a single cat house would be traumatic for them?? There's a drawn out agony about all this that I can only wish you well as you go through it.
It's good you're getting access to great optional sites. Some seem to have disappeared to Authorsden.com and others may be hibernating for the northern winter. Here..summer approacheth. With many I know no longer posting here, suite101 no longer calls to me as strongly.
Best wishes
Jeff

In response to Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Wot's that on the road...a head? posted by PyewacketWizard:Hi Melanie
For some reason, it's been very hard to get the 'reply' function to work for your post. It's either yet another problem with my PC or teething problems with the "new" suite101.
When you say it's been a tad chilly at 30 for you...I guess you're talking Fahrenheit. Here, we talk Celsius and we are expecting 30 degrees C which with the wet weather, is humid and hot.
The more things change...the more things remain the same. It still seems hard to activate anything more than one Health topic. I've really got to try to find a general discussion board. Authorsden is (surprisingly) for authors and the reply function seems a bit limited but at least it gives authors a chance to hone their skills. We have forums in response to a TV program on very good topics but the suite101 sort is hard to find...and I aint a chat room kinda person. Friends use the chat in the Ebay site but then I don't buy and sell there.
Take care.
