Hi Folks
As some of you may know and others not, the State of Texas is in a severe budget crunch right now. They have no money to pay for post supervision/placement visits. Dozens of families adoption plans are on hold. Many families have offered to pay for those visits themselves and many supervisors in Texas are 'sitting on' approval for families to do so. While they 'sit', children remain in foster care, families cannot even visit their children, and no travel or transition plans can be made. The Austin office alone has more than fifty families who's adoptions are at a stand still. For most families ICPC is complete, subsidy and medial agreements are complete.

A San Antonio TV station, KENS-5 TV (CBS Affiliate) is considering doing this story.

Contact Brandi Ralston. Email: Bralston@kens5.com

If you know anyone who is in this situation please ask them to call Bill at 210 366 5001 ASAP?

Many families have contacted the State Governor, Congressman, the TDPRS Ombudsman, other new media and to date NO ONE has cared enough about what's going on to take any action other than to tell families to 'be patient and wait'. Others are afraid to 'rock the boat' and simply wait. As most of you know, I'm not the 'sit and wait' kind when it comes to children's welfare.

The families involved need help. Please pass this along to every other adoption related public board, to any family who has adopted from Texas or who is waiting to adopt from Texas. If you are not adopting from Texas but support the families, please call the newsroom and insist that they run this story!

If you are on Internet posting boards please post this email there!

If you can't do either, please PRAY for the children and waiting families! If you are not a believer in that, send good thoughts!

We have a chance to make a difference here for dozens of children and their waiting families.

respectfully
Deedee
