» Red - Do You Snowshoe?

Gary,

This is a terrific article. I have never donned a pair of snowshoes, but have always had the desire. Hope one day I get to try it.

I live in southern Ontario and our winter has had frigid temperatures ever since Christmas. This is a good old fashioned winter like we used to have when I was a kid. I wouldn't mind the cold so much, but hate that windchill factor.

Keep up the good work, Gary. I always enjoy my visits to your topic.

In response to message posted by Red:

I am not a skier but I tried snowshoeing almost 30 years ago (that long, I can't believe it) on the coastal mountains of British Columbia.

It didn't take long to learn and soon I was enjoying the cross country trails. It isn't as exhausting as cross country skiing and I got to enjoy the same scenery and the crisp mountain air.

It is a wonderful activity and a lot of fun when you go with a group of friends. The rental of shoes is cheap and you don't need any other equipment except the appropriate clothing.
