» Red - apple cider...

Gary, thanks for sharing this delicious article with us. The links are great too.

This article brought back some memories of childhood. Grandpa used to make apple cider in the fall. It was delicious. Alas, those days are gone but still remember that apple press and the hard work that went into making the cider.

Now, we buy our cider from a man just outside of the city. He sells cider and apple cider vinegar. Hard cider is something that is not for sale here in Ontario. Well, possibly it is if you know where to get it, but it is not sold legally. LOL

Take care, Gary and thanks again for sharing this great article.

» andreajo13 - Glad I found your articles!

Hi Gary!

Attracted by the pictures of the apples on the Travel Center, I found my way to your articles! I am so glad I did as I know very little about the Adirondacks except for the name. Was really impressed by the floating classroom article too. That is something I think they should do in my neck of the woods!

I have lived in the main apple growing area of BC and enjoyed the info that you have on cider. Yum!

Will be back and have subscribed to your topic!

Regards,

Hi Gary,
I was also drawn by the graphic at the Travel Center. I'm from apple country, too, in New Hampshire. I enjoyed your article very much and I learned a lot. I'm so glad I stopped by. Thank you!
Tina

» jerrib - Apples!

I had no idea your state was also an apple producer. The cider sounds so good. Enjoyed the tastes your writing brought to my senses!

I've written about apples in Washington State, you may want to take a look at http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/wash... to read about our apple production, Gary.

Small world!

» Red - apple cider...

Gary,

This article brought back memories of days on the farm. Grandpa always made his own apple cider every year. Hot apple cider was part of every holiday meal. Everyone loved it. I have never tasted cider as good as Grandpa made, but that is probably because I am biased.

Thanks for submitting this to the Nature's Treasures Event. I'm approving it and placing it under the category, "Tickling the Tastebuds."

Love the site....made me hungry for some of those "crispy cider donuts". Does anyone have any recipes they would care to share? I'd love to hear from you at dubai2dc@yahoo.com. Thanks,
