The Best Film of the 1990's Decade

I am looking for best films of the WORLD! I am especially interested in starting a discussion on the film "The Harmonists" which was the top box office success in Germany in 1998.

This film tells the story of the German popular singing group of the 1920's and 1930's known as the "Comedian Harmonists". The group consisted of six male musicans, one pianist and five singers. They incorporated comedy in their act, in their choreography of their act, and in their costumes. They were consumate musicans, and were extremely popular between the years 1927-1934. They toured Europe extensively, and when in 1934 they were forced to disband by the Nazis, three of their Jewish members went to USA and started another group also called "The Comedy Harmonists" and recorded for EMI.

Their original repertoire is recorded on casette, CD and, of course, vinyl and 78's. This film won several awards in Europe. The actors mimed the words of the songs and performed the dances and choreography as did the original group. A very enjoyable film and excellently directed and performed.
