» MarilynK - Idea gone wrong

If you follow some of the links in the article you will see just how far the idea of animal rights has gone. The Animal Rights Law Center is one of them. Do you know a couple actually walked into a zoo and saw a monkey that looked sad - yes, I said he looked sad. They sued on his behalf - you can you know! They won!

I asked my dogs the other night if they wanted to live in the wild. They said, "Hmmm. Let's think about that for a moment. We would have to hunt our own food, give up our spot on the sofa, our tennis balls, rides in the car, sleep outside in the rain and snow. DO WE LOOK STUPID?"

Marilyn

I asked Nick and Larry the same question. Larry said, "Even a Golden knows the answer to that!!"

Animal Protection groups do have a purpose. Children Protection groups do have a purpose. There are people in those groups that take it too far.

I believe that I should be able to correct my pet. I believe that I should be able to correct my child. There are pets and children that need protection from idiots who think they have the right to abuse. Those people are slipping through the cracks and continue to abuse and mistreat while the idiots get all the attention for a monkey who looks sad.

The way to change this is to speak up...here on the suite, teaching your children to respect other people and animals, and acting responsibly with your own pets.

» MarilynK - Right on Jo

and that is why people have to be enlightened about animal rights. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with protection. These people don't even put a value on human life. To equate the life of a boy with that of a pig or a rat is not just sick, it is born out of evil. To liken the Nazi Holocaust to killing broiler chickens means that the lack of compassion for our fellow man could easily see this horror repeated.

I am just adding a very valuable link to my article. For anyone who has already read the article and followed the links for further information, please visit this one. (And if you have read the article without following the links - please go back and follow them. Educating ourselves is the first step in protecting our rights.)

It is absolutely chilling to realize how these organizations infiltrate every walk of life and work to get their message across. Now they are targetting our children and the education system is helping them. We have to work twice as hard to ensure the truth prevails.

» PatM_6 - I just finally got a chance to read your article.

Oh, how important this information is. These people are so very dangerous to any of us that enjoy a dog as a pet or companion.

This site is so important and reaches so many people. Everyone needs to share this message. You did very good Marilyn.

» MarilynK - Thanks Pat

I do hope this has reached a few people and at least inspired them to do some research about Animal Rights. I received an e-mail from one reader with the following information regarding Peter Singer - the man who is considered the Father of the Animal Rights Movement:

Peter Singer is teaching at Princeton University. His appointment to that post brought an uproar from the American disability community because of his advocacy of euthanasia of infants with disabilities. Steve Forbes, a Princeton alumnus, withdrew his substantial financial support of his alma mater because of Singer's appointment.

It is not only in regards to animals where these people are dangerous. They place no value on any form of life. What I find terrifying is how they are infiltrating the colleges, universities and even the public school system to get their message ingrained into the minds of our young people. Hitler used the same tactics and it worked!

Did any of you read Jolynn's post on the meat article? Very sick. Puppy mills are the same very sick. If you wish to see the article it is at www.freespeech.org/ but be careful it is bad news. I really cannot believe people advocate such ideas in their heads.

» Mastiff_mom - not just pets

It's not just "pets" that the Animal Rights groups want eliminated -- it's the "exploitation" of ALL animals for any purpose. This, of course, includes animals as food, but it also includes animals involved in services. That means no seeing eye dogs, no hearing dogs, no dogs for the physically handicapped, no therapy animals, no police dogs, no drug control dogs, no rescue animals (water rescue, avalanche rescue, natural disaster rescue, etc.) They do not want people to be in contact with animals for any reason. No zoos. No animals used for travel. No companion animals. ALL animals would live in the wild (if they could find the room) or become extinct. Domestic dogs and cats would no longer exist. Neither would cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, horses (maybe horses would be "allowed" to return to the would), and other farm animals. The work that is performed by service animals would have to be done by humans or not at all -- some of the Animals Rights people even believe that individuals who require the use of service animals should be euthanized. Yet they accuse us pet people of wanting to play God. If God had not wanted animals and people to work together, we wouldn't have been created the way we were. I know all of this because I was involved in a well known animal rights group during college. When I had been involved long enough to learn the real agenda (they do not reveal it to newcomers), I quit. Now I am helping with what I had wanted to all along -- animal welfare -- and doing it through a breed club and breed rescue. This way, I know I am not part of the problem but part of the solution. Please, ask questions, questions, questions. When they've given the first and second answer, ask again -- they have been trained to hide the true agenda behind other problems. Educate yourself, and don't be quick to jump on the bandwagon. Your rights and your pets' are at stake.

I echo Pat's comment, Tina. You are a huge asset but not just to animals, to humanity.

Please keep spreading the message and telling of your experiences. No one can say it better than one who has been there and experienced the truth behind animal rights.

Several of their leaders have come right out and stated that domestic animals are poor excuses for animals and should be allowed to become extinct!

Ingrid Newkirk is quoted as saying that given a choice, she would really "rather not be here". She believes she is wasting the earth's valuable resources just by being alive. I won't even bother to comment on that. It would be too easy!

» leah_angel - Worst article EVER

I read this whole article because I was trying to find some evidence that the PETA or other AR groups supported puppy mills. All I can say is that I was horribly disappointed. Although the author made the statement over and over that AR groups are not supporting the fight against puppy mills, all he did was state that they do not think animals should be used as pets. Well what does that have to do with proving that they support mills?! Nothing! Unfortunately all this article did was spread misinformation. Good Job.
