» Matty76 - Intelligence of various dog breeds????

Does anyone have a list or know of a site that has a list of the breeds ranked in order from top to bottom rated on their individual intelligence? If so please forward to me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks

» PatM_6 - WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a big difference between intelligence and trainability.

The more intelligent a breed is, the more thought and insight it takes to train it. Many of the more "trainable" breeds are bred to not have a thought of their own.

The more of a survivor the less the dog is willing to give up control. The more thinking ability the dog has, the more on the ball you will need to be.
