There is a big difference between intelligence and trainability.The more intelligent a breed is, the more thought and insight it takes to train it. Many of the more "trainable" breeds are bred to not have a thought of their own.
The more of a survivor the less the dog is willing to give up control. The more thinking ability the dog has, the more on the ball you will need to be.
