Loved the article especially your personal connection with Sonia Sanchez. Sometime ago I watched Sonia Sanchez on BET being interviewed by Tavis Smiley along with Cornel West and another guest I can't remember.I was in awe listening to Sonia Sanchez answering questions she virtually sang throughout the entire interview. I read recently that Sonia Sanchez was awarded the Robert Frost Medal in poetry. Thanks for sharing your experience.
