At my age, this discovery is of no interest to me personally, but I thought I would pass along what I received in a "RealAge Tip of the Day" mailing to which I am subscribed.

Japanese researchers have discovered a new vitamin, pyrroloquinoline quinone, or PQQ. The nutrient appears to play an important role in fertility, according to animal studies, and researchers speculate that other health benefits will be revealed. Good sources of PQQ include
parsley, green tea, green peppers, and kiwi fruit.

That nutrient sounds a little like pyridoxine, AKA vitamin B6. That one is contained in dark green and dark red veggies. North Americans who buy their produce in supermarkets are severely deficient in this vitamin, because the produce is kept under light instead of in the dark. I wonder if the same is true for this newly discovered vitamin.

Thanks for sharing the news! I am always strongly recommending that women (and men too) drink at least 1 cup of Green Tea daily. It's good to see that there is something to back up my recommendation now besides the fact that Green Tea contains antioxidents and is better for you than coffee and 'black' tea smile
