» kris31 - Reaching out...

My husband and I have been ttc for 15 months. I've just completed my third cycle of Clomid without success and I really feel as though I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I'm writing this in hopes of reaching out to someone, anyone, who's been through or is going through what I've experienced. Over the last year virtually every female friend, acquaintance, co-worker, or family member I know has become pregnant and/or had a baby and I feel like I have no one to turn to who can relate to the hell commonly referred to as infertility. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to cope with, not having any control in what I see as the most important aspect of my life is gut-wrenching. Getting my period month after month despite charting, taking fertility meds, and trying to "just relax so it will happen" is heartbreaking. I feel like I'm falling apart at the seams and I'm trying real hard to remain optimistic, and be grateful for what I do have, I just have moments like these when I can't handle it all. If anyone out there has any advice or words of support, wisdom, or encouragement for me it would really mean the world to me to hear them.

In response to message posted by kris31:

Hello Kris. You are not alone! I know several women that feel the same way you do. The frustration, depression, anger, and even guilt are normal feelings that are difficult to explain to others that don't know what it is like.

Have you considered joining a support group? There are some really great ones available online, and if you live in an area where there is a RESOLVE chapter, they have 'live' meetings that you might be interested in. If that is not your cup of tea, or if you are unsure if it is something that you would be interested in, this discussion board and topic are here for you, and so am I.

I want you to feel free to vent, ask any questions you might have, and if you are interested in learning more about infertility, a new course has just been added to Suite Uinversity - Introduction to Infertility and the next course starts on June 16th.

More than anything else, please know that you are not alone smile
