» LH1221 - itchy palms and feet

Hey everyone,
I too am a sufferer of itchy palms and hands and I found that it is definitly something we have ingested although I too live in the midwest and Spiders are prevelent here - I have not been bitten by one. On a good note however and no doctor will tell you about this product but you need to cleanse out what is ailing you. I spent four hours at a seminar last night that discussed many of these things as well as all auto immune diseases and a lot of them can be helped and even prevented with proper nutrition. In other words - that if it is an allergic reaction, then you need to get it out of your system and replace it with vitamins and minerals - be it medication or food. I have found a product called Isagenix. It cleanses your entire body - from your blood, kidneys, liver, lungs and bowels just to name a few. It is not a colonic so you are not tied to a bathroom but a complete body cleanse. It really worked and got rid of my allergies as well as my itchy palms and feet. It also lowered my cholesteral by 29 pts...I lost 12 lbs and 20 inches off my body. My doctor was amazed that the itching disapppeared and was also happy with the other results. Its amazing.
If you are interested in hearing more about this or would like to check out the website - go to
http://www.jhancock.isagenix.com.
Even for those who do have symptoms of Lupus - this cleanse can help you live a healthier life. Its all about having your body work as it should be and ridding yourself of the toxins(allergies). I never thought I would be talking about this on line - but it really works! If it can help other people like it has helped me and my husband then its worth sharing.

It was interesting to read that there are a couple of people who share my situation. I recently started taking Wellbutrin 150mg about a month ago. My hands started to itch in the evening about a week ago. It's weird that it doesn't start until the evening (every evening)but when it does, there's nothing I can do to control it. I just scratch and scratch. I tried taking Benadryl and using hydrocortisone cream, but neither worked. I have noticed that washing with Dove soap in hot water for about five minutes has helped. I wonder if it is the Wellbutrin.

Finally....You are the only person I have found with the same exact symptoms as me!! The pressure...makes the hands itch so intensely it is almost impossible not to scratch for relief! I take a wet cloth and ring it until it sometimes tears to get relief! This causes the hands to crack, and I get thick skin that peels. I have tried 6 kinds of steroid creams, had allergy tests...but not food ones yet..and extensive blood tests. Changed laundry detergents, stopped using fabric softener, changed fluid pills..still the same. I have had this for almost a year, starting soon after I lost both my hysband and mother to cancer. It hasa stopped me from sewing, golfing, playing guitar...all of the things that made life worthwhile. I am getting very depressed about it, but am determined to find the cause. I also have a few itchy spots on my body..one lady said her husband had similiar condition and was allergic to tomatoes..so I am not eating any more of those..if I find out ANYTHING helpful I will contact you. My email is san48@eastlink.ca if you would like to talk to me.

Me too. This is a general reply.

I had this consistently for a few weeks where I would start itching around dark and on some nights the torture would keep me awake. Kept velcro by the bed (the sandpaper-like component and used it to scratch, it did help but I was wary of rubbing away skin).

One day the swelling was so bad I went to the Dr. While I was in his office it spread from hands to feet and then to waistline where pants chafed a bit. Dr. gave me steroid injection, benadryl, and said it was an allergic reaction...sent me on my merry way.

One Dr. friend a plastic surgeon had similar symptoms, and we traded digital images over the Internet. In both our cases onset was preceded by red splotches, sometimes with almost perfect circular rings which made me suspect tinea. He said he'd been diagnosed with ehrythema multiforme. Mine had been misdignosed as granuloma annulare at one point. He said that the ehrythema multiforme was little consolation and only offered a name for something that was little understood.

Then I went to a dermatologist
s dermatologist who is associated with UCLA. He is often consulted by other dematolgists when they encounter esoteric conditions. He suggested several things...offshoot of herpes though I have never displayed herpes-like symptoms or hives.

All in all, a big fat zero.

Since a month of consistent daily struggles it comes and goes. Clothing that chafe badly around my waist will cause the same sort of swelling and itching. I trimmed bougavillea in my yard and got pricked many times on the hands and that started the swelling. This afternoon, I was playing with a cat which got a little too seriously into it and latched on with all 4 paws, claws bare, scratching and drawing a few drops of blood. Sure enough, after an hour that hand started swelling.

Sometimes after a bout of itchy feet the feet hurt the next day. It almost seems to have gotten into the muscles of the feet. Once my heel was misshapen for a day and a half afterwards, with a lump on it.

I surf and the water here in California ranges from 58 to 70. Almost without exception an hour or two in cold water gets me back to normal. The colder the water (ilel the winter temp of 58) the more effective it is in relieving symptoms.

That's it...still a mystery, rarely flaring up as bad as it had but always noticeable at a low level.

There must be a connection with wellbutrin and the hand and foot itch. I have started itching on my hands and feet after being prescribed this drug

In response to itchy palms and bottoms of feet... posted by sachmo:

I think I found my answer. About one and a half weeks prior to my beginning to itch, I bought new sandals. I wore these new sandals before, during, and after my florida vacation. Finally, after I couldn't stand the itch anymore and trying everything else I could think of (new laundry detergent, soap, dryer sheets, diet...) I stopped wearing the sandals. I looked at my reciept and noticed I bought them just before my itch began. 4 days after I stopped wearing the new sandals the itch went away for good, and it was progressive. I noticed within 1 day a difference, and 2 days later I knew I was onto something.
So, with the itch gone for 3 weeks, I decided to find out for sure if it was in deed the sandals. I have been wearing them for a week, and I am getting the same rash and itch on my hands, arms, legs and feet.
I am throwing those sandals away.
I don't know what could cause it. Maybe the kind of leather? Maybe the leather stain? Maybe the thread or stiching is made of a certain material my skin does not like. No matter, my itch is now gone. So are the sandals.

after reading many writings here, i see that i;m not the only one suffering from this...I'm like you and had doctors and dermatologists call it many different things, but nothing seems to help. It really hit home when you said about how good it feels to scratch it, even though you know the outcome of it, i always explain that it's and insatiable itch, and i feel at times that i could get a wire brush to scratch. My feet and hands allways look terrible and are always so sore..if you find something or anything that can help or cure this, please let me know >>>>tglloyd@nb.sympatico.ca
