Shocking! Hard to have a good ole fashioned recession when housing starts AND building permits are up so strong. Perhaps the optimists ARE right and it was an inventory problem and we'll see good growth once again in 2 quarters or so? My guess is the energy prices worked their way into the numbers but it will be interesting to read the interpretations as they come out.
