Oh dear another one bites the dust...pardon the pun.

Lets hope someone on the other discussion site convinces this lady to get some help.

How unfortunate that you feel you have to use ignorant rantings and curse words to get your point across.

I dunno what Steve is on about! especially when he drinks that "filthy black muck!" by the gallon.
No matter, we'll all be drinking dish-water in future.

Amen! I'll admit I don't understand pica, but I'm glad that I saw this discussion as now I know somewhat of what pica is. I have not been negative towards you, Chalky, or anyone else here so you cannot truthfully say that all anyone will find in this discussion is negativity. If you expect to find negativity or hate, that is exactly what you'll find.

Yes I am ignorant of hip-hop culture and pica, I'll admit it, because although I don't believe pica harms anyone I do believe hip-hop does but that's another topic for another day. My New Agey/Witchy culture, which you may or may not be ignorant of, says "do no harm," and to the best of my knowledge I can say I have not harmed you or anyone else. My culture also says to seek out understanding and enlightenment of others, see the world through a different pair of eyes, and I've tried to do that to the best of my own ability.

I can see your frustration with this board, you were hoping to seek other pica people but only received questions and opinions from non-pica people. However that frustration, no matter how large it wells inside of you, should not project venom and malace towards others - it does not help your case as far as getting people to understand you and yours better.

You asked us not to judge you, so I ask that you do not judge us; it falls into the whole "do unto others" rule that is weaved in just about every religion and spiritual group in existance. And remember how you treat others comes back to you threefold.

I ask the Divine Universe to bless you and yours, and to shower you with enlightenment, wisdom, and love.

Hi Davo. What was that tooth decay advert where they stick a piece of chalk in a glass of Guinness(?), break the chalk and exclaim "OOOOO!! It does get in!" Now, I'd probably be prepared to take a bite on that chalk.

Chalky, it's just as unlikely your later posts will be deleted by the sleepy censor here as it is Toffeyman's rules about posting in the other topic, will be followed. You're a dag..but then...

I resent that Davo....I'm a seasoned drinker of the black stuff. Its not filthy and I only drink it for medicimal purposes. Can't think what its medicine for, but I'm having fun finding the answer!

And whats this all about tooth decay....I don't have any teeth so haven't a clue what to say to that Jeff. Although I'm slightly worried about having to wax the hair of me palms every 4 days.

OK..I think they used ink in the ads but Guinness would probably soak in more so be a better ad.

To all the people who have/indulge in pica:

would you be interested in undergoing online interviews, with a view to being quoted in an article on pica aimed at the women's magazine and parenting magazine markets?

It would be written with an aim to spread awareness of pica: to highlight the causes & the benefits as well as the possible downsides. It would feature interviews with people such a yourself; people who have had pica toddlers; nutritionists; and specialist doctors in the field.

I intend to treat the subject fairly: I must tell you now that I've no problems with pica as such (eat what you like), and aim to inform people: it's important to be informed as although the materials you cosume may fulfil an unidentified nutritional need, they may also contain toxins: even chalk may contain dyes and bleaches, and so people should have access to a balanced spectrum of information.
