» Nick_Nelson - Do you need attention?

In response to Re: am i suicidal? posted by IMADAG2:

Hi guys,

kandy_kid13...Who's the person you LOVE the MOST on this planet? If you reach the goal of suicide, will this person hurt?

Jeff and the Suite 101 gang have given you good advice. Even though, I don't agree with Burwell's style of expressions, don't you think he MIGHT have a valid point. Think about it!

We're HUMAN and we make mistakes, a down to earth fact. Try to find out, What is my real problem? Why do I cut? "I like to see the blood flow." you state. Why do I like to see the blood flow?

What is my real problem? Did I read the "Cutting Help" topic that Jeff recommended. Do I want to HURT that person I really love? Who could help find answers?

Good Luck at whatever you decide. Oh by the way, Did you know you DON'T have the right to take your life away??? Find out, who has the right to...

Nelson

KandyKid13,
Mango and Nick Nelso gave you excellent advice. You've asked for help and advice, and now that they have given it, FOLLOW IT PLEASE.
Something I found interesting about your response to Burwell--you stated that his comments made you cut again. YOU are responsible for your own actions.
I've gone through a lot of sick stuff in life and survived it all. I once thought about suicide, but after working in a hospital and watching a self-inflicted gunshot victim come in, I realized that I love myself too damned much to go out of the world like that. EVERYTHING that happens to you in life gives you wisdom--things don't just happen to make you suffer. Again, listen to Mango. When I was 7, my uncle committed suicide in our basement, and my mother never got over that loss.
We've all given you the advice you asked for, now it's up to you to take control of your life and go get that help. If you don't, Burwell will have been right--you were wanting attention and not help.
So, stand up, look in the mirror, realize that you still love that person you see, and GO GET HELP--I would suggest the parent of a friend that you trust.

» tiger2001 - it's more than advice

When you think about what others have posted and said you have to think of it as being more than advice. It's not even help. It's the love of those who come to this site. people you don't even know who take the time to show tha they care when you think noone does. Yet you have to look beyond the advice that they give and really think is this soemthing that you would be willing to do? I can't say I've haven't been faced with suicidal thoughts or killing someone else, but when I think about it. if you'd be willing let those who are willing to lend a helping hand understand further the help you are seeking.

» kandy_kid13 - thank you

thank you to everyone who has posted here, i never knew that so many strangers could be so caring and understanding... i am now talking more w/people however i am not talking to any adults because i don't feel comfortable doing that right now, i am mainly talking to 2 friends of mine (one has previously attempted suicide so she understands greatly, and the other one, my boyfriend, used to cut so he understands more than most) they have given me suggestions on what to do instead of cutting and let me call them any time if i need to talk and also told me that if they see any more new cuts or bruises that they will go to adults, i think they really care about me and are helping me, i have not cut or hit in a few days which is a great accomplishment for me and the suicidal thoughts are still there but not as strong...

Jeff, to answer your question: the last time my mom found out about my cutting, she yelled at me and made me feel really bad, causing me to cut more then usual, she didn't trust me at all even with things that had nothing to do with cutting, she also took away almost all of my privacy i was never left alone, that just made my self-esteem plummit and i don't want to go thru that again

and to the people that suggested that i might just want attention: i don't, if i did then i would wear short sleeve shirts and cut in public and let my parents know that i cut, i wouldn't post it on the internet where i don't even know the people that read it

but, once again, thank you everyone, i am doing better even tho it hasn't been that long since i first posted

Hi kanykid. Good to know you seem to be goin' OK now. I only asked about your mum coz I thought maybe she is worried too and doing the best she can. BUT it IS important you talk to people you're most comfortable with...and they're prepared to do something about it. It's pretty difficult for us to help...it's an international forum and for example, there's a good 18 hours between me and many who post here.

Take care.
