Low-Carb Living

By Sara McGrath

Introduction

Only five hundred generations ago, everyone on the planet ate a low-carb diet. This is the diet that I will present in this course. It is based on the natural diet of our pre-agricultural ancestors who experienced virtually none of our modern-day chronic diseases.

This diet does not require that you count calories, fat, or carbohydrates. Simply by following the diet that our bodies have been designed for, your overall health, including your weight and physical fitness, will move toward optimum condition.

Described as "the most nutritious diet on the planet," this diet is not only nutritious, but also simple in many ways. The foods are basic and inexpensive (and you will eat less without being hungry.) The meals are quick and easy to prepare (preparation is minimal to none, so it's convenient for busy people and for people who don't like to cook.)

This diet is also referred to as the paleolithic (or paleo) diet, the stone age diet, the hunter-gather diet, and the caveman diet. It is our original diet, so it shouldn’t be confused with the popular, fad low-carb diets that promote artificial foods and restrict healthy carbohydrates such as fruits and vegetables.

You will learn about the foods that allow you to feel your best, because you will be eating all you want of natural, nutritious foods, while at the same time supporting optimal health and wellness and preventing the increasingly common conditions such as allergies and asthma, and the diseases of obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, heart disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, etc.

The instructor, Sara McGrath, has presented an extremely well-researched and annotated series of eight lesson chapters detailing the Paleo Diet
