Teaching Writing: Children II© Irene Taylor
- Lesson 1: Review of Writing Basics and Teaching Expository Writing
- Lesson 3: Making Books and Publishing Student Work
Introduction
Teaching Writing to Children - Part Two is a second general course on teaching writing to children in the elementary grades. In this course the writing genres of expository writing (all those real-life types of writing that give information), and persuasion (kids are always trying to get their point across - this section will show you how) will be covered.
Each lesson has a description of the writing genre, ways to practice in class, teaching ideas, and ways to display student work. Lessons on bookmaking and publishing are also included in this course.
So, if you have taken Teaching Writing to Children and are looking for more great writing ideas, this course is for you. Of course, Teaching Writing to Children is not a necessary prerequisite for this course. Feel free to take one or both, and take them in either order.
