Introduction
Did you know that people who have pets tend to live longer than people who don’t? Did you know there is Biblical support for animals in heaven? Would you know what to do if your pet started choking?
These are just a few of the topics addressed in “Enhancing The People/Pet Partnership”. This course will examine the joys and disappointments of this unique relationship and is designed to enrich the lives of people and their pets by creating stronger bonds and deeper understanding and respect for each other. As our knowledge of animals increases we learn to appreciate their amazing characteristics and abilities more and more. Animals experience life in much the same way that you and I do. They burp, sneeze, hiccup, dream, feel joy and happiness, fear and pain. Animals are capable of great intelligence and courage. They have a fascinating capacity for love and loyalty and will thrive on proper diet, fresh water, shelter, medical care, play times, and meaningful relationships. They wither in neglect and abuse. When we're wrapped up in the cares of life, our pets can remind us of the importance of simplicity. When we're sad and stressed out, they can touch and transform our hearts. When we need a friend to be there for us, our pet is one we can count on to never be too busy. Studies have even shown that children who grow up with pets tend to be more emotionally stable. Many animals not only provide companionship, but are involved in service to people in many facets, including the medical community and civil service. In other words, pets impact our lives in a powerful way and the human/animal bond has become very important in today’s society. This course will help you to nurture your own human/animal bond by learning what a beautiful gift animals really are, along with finding specific ways to share fun and special times with your pet while keeping him healthy and safe. We will look into their eyes and see our shared humanity. We will reach into their hearts and find our own longings. We will tune into their souls and connect our own to theirs. This course shows you lots of ways to work with, care for, and bond better with your pet. (graphic courtesy J's Magic Galleries) LessonsClick here to see course syllabus |
