Genealogy 101

By Lisa Perkins

Introduction

Have you ever looked into the mirror and wondered where in your family line you got your eyes from? Where did you get that square chin or hazel eyes? Who else had long fingers and a steady determination in their character? I can look at my parents and know I get my blonde hair and blue eyes from my father and my other facial features from my mother. But what about the rest of my family? What did they look like? Where did they come from? What does my name mean? Was there another person in your family that was like me? There are so many questions you could ask. Searching your family's past is the best way to find out those answers. Genealogy can be a confusing and even daunting task for the beginner. There are so many different details involved in researching your past. During this course, you will learn the basics of genealogy, from what kind of questions to ask to how to form a readable and understanable family tree. Come join me in this exciting journey into our pasts!
