The Spanish Conquistadore invasion of Argentina displaced the following indigenous language groups:
Mapuche, Ona, Tehuelche, Yamana,Huarpe, Rankulche,Quechua, Aymara, Diaguita, Atacama, Avá-Guarany, Chané, Chorote, Chulupí, Omaguaca, Tapiete, Toba, Tupí-Guarany, Wichi, Mbya-Guarany, Mocoví, Pilagá, Vilela and Kolla.
But is invasion just a part of distant history, or is it still going on today?
New millennium Conquistadores have Limosines instead of horses, checkbooks instead of swords, bulldozers instead of ships, IPR's and GATT instead of a Papal Bull...
Read about the plight of the Kolla, and their treatment at the hands of these new-millennium Conquistadores, in my article Argentina's Kolla Native Title.
