Native Poetry Comp Winner

Indian In The Machine won because of the open, unpretentious, simple nature of his verse. Apart from a bit of repetition and understated alliteration, his work is unburdened by poetic devices, lending his free verse a guiless quality that impacts upon the reader. There is also a hint of arrogance there, a boldness that allows the writer to state his opinion without hiding behind metaphor. Not many poets can get away with that.

We Are In A Holocaust Today

by Indian In The Machine

I'm not interested in any holocausts of history

(even the North American Indian holocaust)

I'm interested in the holocausts of today

(the ones mainstream media, gov'ts, corporations and the public INTENTIONALLY DENY)

Why use a gas chamber when you can poison the food supply?

Why use a gas chamber when you can poison the sky via chemtrails?

Why use a gas chamber when you can poison the minds and cause death that way?

Why use a gas chamber when you can poison the soil, oceans, rivers, lakes, fish, crops

and EVEN future generations?

This is much worse than anything real or fabricated throughout history

There are lots of crimes against humanity TODAY to choose from

Let's BE real because we are REAL people...

there are REAL people behind the FAKE entities of governments,

corporations and media who know what they do and do not do

They want us to look away from their regrettable deeds

We keep looking away from our own regrettable deeds too
