Bill Sassani's BlogPosted by Bill Sassani The Wilderness Therapy Symposium is announicing its 2009 gathering for September 11-13, 2009 in Boulder, CO. The symposium is a gathering of professionals in the wilderness therapy industry, which include therapists, field instructors, educational consultants, and owners of wilderness programs and after-care programs. The venue for the sympsoium his year has changed. Previously it was held at Naropa Universit's off-campus facility. This year it will be held at the Millennium Harvest House in Boulder. This was in response to feedback from participants for a location that allows for holding the meeting and accomodations in one location. Posted by Bill Sassani This weekend Naropa University will host its 6th Wilderness Therapy Symposium in On Friday there are several pre-conference workshops scheduled, and a job fair/networking reception between 4-6 P.M. Gary Ferguson, whose book Shouting at the Sky describes his experiences while visiting a wilderness program, will be the keynote speaker for the conference. Sunday there will extended 3-hour sessions, as well as extended 6-hour sessions held off-campus in an outdoor setting. Participants who attend these sessions should bring appropriate clothing and footwear for being outside all day. |
