There are loads of aviation related activities you can do, no matter what the weather....
Read about your Aircraft
When did you last read the POH (Pilot's Operating Handbook)? In some flying schools you have to practically sign the Official Secrets Act before you can get hold of a copy. Even if it's your own aircraft, the POH tends to gather dust rarely get read. So read it and learn more about your plane. You can never know too much where flying is concerned.
Talk to People
Time spent hanging around the airfield is not time wasted, not at all. Chat to instructors, or to more experienced pilots. No doubt everyone will be handing around in the cafe, waiting for the weather to improve, so join them. It's amazing what tips you can pick up, and what new stuff you can learn.
Go up to the Tower
Ok, you can't do this at every airfild; it's often out of bounds. But if you can, go up and have a look round, and listen to what's happening. It's very interesting and extremely useful.
There are plenty more...let me know what YOU do on a rainy flying day....
