Steve Reich at Seventy

Okay, I know that some people may think that it is strange for me to be writing about Steve Reich, even with the timeliness of his most important work being released in the seventies: "Drumming," "Octet," and the piece that I will be covering, "Music for 18 Musicians". But I feel that it would be a great shame to ignore this talent in his seventieth year and on the thirtieth anniversary of that last release. Oct 3th brought Mr Reich to that milestone year and the celebrations have been ongoing. Check out the official website dedicated to him:
