I'm enjoying them all for different reasons. Kockroach and World War Z I read for review at Films and Books Magazine, and I plan to review my current list of pleasure reads at Films and Books as well. I'll post snips of the reviews here. They're all wonderfully different, and that's what I personally enjoy. I'm anti-genre, so this works for me.
Meanwhile, I just finished three wonderful manuscripts for Kunati, two of which we'll be offering on, as well as six partials (three chapters.
Obviously, I enjoy reading. But why do I enjoy so much? I would have to say—character above all. Give me a character who grows, a character who's not a cliché, or a character who's really well developed—alternatively really, really funny or entertaining—and that's almost enough for me. That's me, personally. For review purposes, or for Kunati acquisitions, I also look for theme. What's provocative and different?
What about you? What have you been reading? Please post your comments here. I'd love to see your list. Even, your review. Send me your reviews and I may post them here. Or just comment for all to see. What do you look for in a great read? What is the one thing that matters most to you? What was your favorite read this year? Please let me know. info@kunati.com.
