Making Use of Freebies

Beauty supplies can be expensive, especially when you're not sure you're going to love the product. That's where freebies come in. Any true beauty babe keeps an eye on "Free Gift With Purchase" day advertised by the major cosmetics companies. It's a great way to try new stuff (some favorites of mine were first discovered this way -- thank you, Lancome, for the best eye makeup remover!), and keep your travel toiletries bag small. Don't forget to ask for perfume samples, which is another great travel item, and try the freebies that come in catalogs and magazines. I just got new samples from DHC, the olive oil people in Japan. I'm liking the cleanser and eye cream, but not quite sold on the foundation primer. Even if you're saving dollars for gift giving now, you can indulge in beauty products thanks to clever marketing.
