Trevy Thomas's BlogPosted by Trevy Thomas Growing long hair is easy when you're young. That's because your hair hasn't yet been damaged by styling or coloring. Hormonal changes can also impact hair's health, but long hair can be had at any age with a little patience. Your hair must be as healthy as possible, and split ends have to go, so chop it off first if your hair is in bad shape. Then forget about using heat producing appliances, riding in convertibles, racing a brush through your hair, wearing accessories that pinch, pull or break. Don't smoke, drink in moderation, eat a varied diet and take vitamins, especially B12. Use weekly deep conditioning treatments, and long steady brush strokes to transfer natural hair oils from scalp to ends. It's a long process, but if long hair is your goal, you can have it. Posted by Trevy Thomas So you ate the pie, the stuffing, the gravy and drank whatever was put in front of you. Now your pants are too tight and no amount of cranberry lipstick will help. You need to confront your dieting fears and get a grip before it gets worse. Don't worry, I'll help. Here are some tips to get you motivated and still enjoy the rest of the year. Posted by Trevy Thomas Don't let the holiday stress you out to the point of losing your looks. A relaxed host or guest not only feels better but looks it. Here are a few tips to help you look your best this Thanksgiving so you can enjoy the holiday season at its best. Posted by Trevy Thomas It's starting to look like an awful lot of celebrities got caught in a beehive, and I don't mean that in a good way. We've taken lip enhancement, as it's called, too far. There is nothing sexy about looking like you just got punched in the mouth, or that your overbite has been on steroids. If celebrities who have enormous cash reserves for self-beautification can't get this procedure done well, what are the odds that the rest of us are going to look any better? It's time for natural lips to be in vogue again. Most people have lips that are perfect in their natural state. Enhance with lipstick and leave it at that. You'll age much more beautifully. Posted by Trevy Thomas While the personal trimmer is my favorite device for hair removal, I still use an old fashioned razor for legs. It's fairly easy, but it's possible to run into trouble. First, use a real razor, not just a disposable, and change the blade regularly. Use a loofah or scrubber to exfoliate skin, then lather on shaving cream and start from the bottom up. One stroke from ankle to knee, then rinse and do the next section. Some women skip upper legs, but that's up to you. Rinse well, dry and slater on a good body cream. Make sure someone appreciates your smooth legs! |
