What is Corporate Social Responsibility?

Corporate Social Responsibility is a movement aimed at making companies accountable for the impact that their business operations have on society and the environment.
The major tenets of corporate social responsibility are:-
- Environmental Sustainability which includes carbon offset credits and emissions trading schemes;
- Social Impacts including human rights and ethical human resource management;
- Economic Impacts of Business and the Fair Trade Initiative; and
- Governance, Ethics and Transparent Practices.
Corporate Citizenship is an important consideration for companies who wish to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
