I am so excited to be the feature writer for parenting methods here at Suite101. Since I first learned that my firstborn child was on the way, I have been reading articles, buying books, surfing the Internet and going to parenting groups to collect as much information as I can on the topic of parenting. What I have learned over the years, is that you never stop learning because as soon as you figure out one thing, your child grows and changes or another one pops into the picture and changes the dynamics. As well, what seemed to work for the first child may not work at all with the second or other children that follow. Each child shines in his or her own delightful (and sometimes difficult) way like the unique sparkling star of the universe that each of us are.
Parents have one of the most awesome and awesomely challenging jobs out there, and I think it’s important to have as many tools as you can at your disposal.
