Science encompasses many areas. One we often shy away from is electricity. I have found a wonderful site to help your children learn about electricity in very hands-on and fun way. The site is called Quick Study Labs. The site was created by Joel Phillips, a certified Electronics teacher for the state of Alabama since 1988. He designed the site in mind of kids with different learning patterns, called the Edison-Trait. Please read his description on the site for more details. On the opening page of the site, scroll to the link for Edison-Trait. It is well-written.
My boys and I are signed up for the Summer Club. These are 2 week fun projects. For example, this session we are working on Magnetism. We are even searching for lodestones!
Mr. Phillips recommends his Edison Project for ages 12 and up, and the summer courses for 8 and up. Younger children could possibly do this, but with close adult supervision and help.
Have fun!
