A native Floridian serving as State Representative for Florida House District 82 is taking aim at the newly resigned Congressman Mark Foley’s seat. Just who is Joe Negron and why does he want the temporarily tarnished seat?
With a love for public service and a need to please, Negron nailed down the approval and praise from the entire Republican Party of Florida earlier this week. With these sweet endorsements Negron is said to be a shoe-in for the 16th Congressional District vacancy.
Integrity was the word of choice as the press releases hit the promotional circuit. It’s no doubt a word that has evaded the Republican Party in the last few months. With too many scandals and not enough air time, most Republicans are changing platforms for a quickly approaching election month.
Negron’s resume reads as honorable lawyer who has an extensive record of community and public service. As chairman of the House Fiscal Council, Negron’s responsibilities include helping to write the state’s budget for various programs and services. Negron’s test will come as Foley’s hearings start. Will one mans fall be another mans leap to a winning race? That is a question to be answered in November.
