If you're a cat lover, you may want to get involved and help our feline friends but just don’t know where to begin. There are so many ways that you can help once you know how! There are many programs available online or in your local area that will teach you everything you know about trap, neuter, and return programs.
The Events for Cat Advocacy Blog keeps an updated list of “online courses, resources, and e-forums; print and video materials; hands-on training, on-site classes, conferences, seminars, workshops.” I was surprised at the amount of resources available!
For example, Neighborhood Cats.org has a free online course that you can take, and they also have kits and books available at reasonable prices, which also support the Human Society. They have videos and slideshows and success stories. And the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project not only offers free spaying and neutering for feral cats, but also low cost spaying and neutering for pets!
Everyone can do a little something, even if it is simply making a small donation. Every little bit helps!
If you have a program that is helping cats and would like to be featured on our blog, please feel free to email me for an interview!
