Ludwig van Beethoven, considered the greatest of German classical composers, was baptized in Bonn, Germany on December 17, 1770. Following this date, his birthday has usually been quoted as December 16, 1770. But does this really matter?
Being so, I decided to pay tribute and remember this genius who revolutionized music as an art by itself. Here is a short biography of Ludwig van Beethoven.
Although Beethoven is commonly known as a composer, he was obviously a great thinker - composer, pianist, teacher and publisher.
Beethoven's music expresses all kinds of emotion, passionate, turbulent to the tender. Being the artist and genius that he was, he endlessly and constantly expanded his form and style. His work bridged between the Mozartean Classical and the Romantic Period influencing composers that followed him.
Sadly, his increasing deafness, came as a terrible blow.
Let us hear from you if you have anything to share about this musical artist. Perhaps you know something about "Beethoven's Hair?" That'd be interesting.
Happy 237th Birthday Ludwig!
