Edward Franklin Albee, (19283- ), American playwright / dramatist, is born in Washington, D.C. He is famous for his best-known 1962 play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (The play has nothing to do with the famous English writer Virginia Woolf.)
Edward Albee is known for his clever and often biting commentaries on American life.
