Two world's prominent great thinkers, Charles Darwin and Abraham Lincoln, have the same birthday, that's right - Day, Month, Year.
FEBRUARY 12, 1809
Charles (Robert) Darwin (1809-1882)
English naturalist, born in Shrewbury. He married his cousin Emma Wedgewood, had 10 children, and had a happy life together.
Charles Darwin proposed a biological theory of natural selection as a mechanism of organic change in his monumental The Origin of Species in 1859.
He owed much of his theory to others' work athough he is famously credited with originating the theory of evolution. He used fine and extensive research ability in consolidationg his own thought with various tentative theories and suggestions.
Abraham Lincolm (1809-1865)
16th president of the United States, born in Hardin County (now LaRue County), Kentucky. He married Mary Todd. He was born into a very poor frontier family, and had little formal education. the family moved to Indiana and to Salem, Illinois. There, he worked in a store, ran a mill, and began reading law.
In politics, he became a Whig and in 1834 was elected to the legislature of Illinois. Two years later, he was admited to the bar, practicing in Springfield. He was elected to the US House of Representative for one term.
He became the 16th US president in March 4, 1861, His Gettysburg Address is most popular. He was assassinated by John WIlkes Booth in 1865.
