Asking Questions in ESL Classes

I've always been the kind of person that likes to ask questions, and as a teacher, I encourage my ESL students to do the same in our ESL classes together

When I was a high school Spanish student, I never liked to leave my classes with doubts about my understanding of the day's class discussions or what I was supposed to do for homework assignments, and I've always felt responsible for helping my ESL students develop the desire to always want to be clear about what they have learned in their classes by appropriately asking questions of myself and other instructors.

Have you ever been in a situation where asking questions in your ESL classes became more than just an exchange of information and took on greater meaning for students and teacher alike?
