The other day, I needed to make a run for pet supplies, and that meant making a trek out to my local PetSmart, which actually isn't "local" since I have to drive to the next county. To add a little more to my driving frustration, when I got there I discovered that they had moved to a new strip mall a few miles further away, so yes, that meant even more driving for me.
By the time I found them, I was pretty grouchy. However, as soon as I walked in through the doors, I remembered why I drive so far to go there. No, it's not because of their product selection, which I admit is pretty good. As I walked through the front doors, I was greeted by a bunch of cages full of dogs and cats looking for homes.
With a little sadness, I had to walk past them. (We have six animals in our house now). But, I realized this was the reason I drove so far - because this company does not sell dogs and cats but instead allows groups such as the Human Society (who was there this particular day) to find homes for needed animals.
A few more miles have been added onto my trips now, but I think they are worth it.
