Hello!
This week's article is all about one of my favorite plants, the philodendron. Most houseplant lovers own at least one, and I'd wager to bet that philos helped introduce them to the world of houseplants. Every home in the 70's had one, right next to the Swedish Ivy (and in a macramé holder, naturally!). They are beautiful and hardy, the perfect combination.
I have a Lemon Lime philo in my living room that's happily growing up a moss pole, a Velvet philo on my bedroom table (and another in my kitchen) and several Heart Shaped philos scattered among my other plants. I just love they way they look. The smaller plants spill happily over their pots while the larger ones grow up their supports in pretty spirals. They are almost works of art! They've survived several moves and more than a couple of incidents of getting accidentally knocked over with no ill effects. They are definitely one of my favorite plants.
What is your favorite houseplant? Please stop into the discussion area and let me know! Anyone can start a discussion, so feel free to jump in. I love hearing from my readers and your thoughts and opinions do matter. Let me know what hot houseplant topics you'd like to read about. I thank you for voting in the last poll and promise to have a new one up soon.
Speaking of hot houseplants, the latest Logee's catalog is now available, and they have some truly gorgeous plants, especially their begonias. Check it out!
