TIDF Buzz: La Manga from Mexico City

I'm getting excited about this year's Toronto International Dance Festival and in particular, La Manga's dance-video performance. Mario Villa and Gabriella Medina present their one hour show The Hershey Man that recently won the New York Dance award A.W.A.R.D. 2006. Founded in 1994, La Manga is a Mexico City and New York-based company that produces video and dance-theatre productions that focus on issues such as body image for dancers. Through integrated dance theatre methodology, La Manga incorporates diverse populations including the physically disabled, the blind and children of diverse nationalities and economic backgrounds.

When and where: Aug. 15 to 19. $12. Gibsone Jessop Gallery, Bldg. 4.
