Choreographed and directed by Rebecca Hope Terry, Small Dramas explores “how we adapt when we must censor ourselves and questions why our natural joy in life withers.” Dancers Aviva Chernick, Jennifer Dick, Leanne Dixon, Andrya Duff, Barbara Lindenberg and Barbara Pallomina perform in a space resembling an office with moving cubicle walls and rolling chairs with lighting by Rebecca Picherack.

The Moving Company explores new ways of reaching isolated communities and creates workshops for marginalised groups. The work of the company serves diverse communities including the blind, African-Canadian, Aboriginal, Asian – Canadian, the elderly, women in jail and girls within correctional institutes. Outreach support, research and development and creation and performance activities are integrated based on the project’s needs.

The company’s mandate is to “create art that unites a variety of theatre disciplines – to support and inspire innovative and creative approaches to performance and teaching.” A charitable organization since 2004, the company’s activities involve the research, creation and performance of dance and multi-disciplinary theatre both nationally and internationally. Artists and non- artists can participate in classes in dance, voice, theatre and other multi-disciplinary artistic fusions.

Toronto-based writer, performer and choreographer Rebecca Hope Terry is one of Canada's foremost contemporary dancers. She has appeared in over 65 theatres internationally and was a featured dancer with Dancemakers for seven years. She has been performing professionally for over 16 years and has a background in dance, clown, acting, music and voice.
