Thanksgiving Placesetting Idea; Legend of the 5 Kernels

Using your word processing or page layout software, type and print out The Legend of the Five Kernels onto tan parchment paper or cardstock. Make sure that you format the text so that the printed and trimmed copy is about the size of a business card.

Hole punch the top corner of the Legend card, and write your guest's name on the backside of the card.

Lay a 4"x4" square of gold chiffon fabric on a flat surface. Place 5 kernels of unpopped popcorn in the center, and gather up the chiffon snugly around the kernels.

Tie with a raffia bow, and thread the Legend card through the raffia. Fluff the free ends of the chiffon, and place the entire unit on the dinner plate at the appropriate placesetting. Encourage your guests to read and reflect on the Legend prior to beginning your Thanksgiving meal.
