The Costa del Sol can prove a pleasant surprise for first time visitors, especially early or late in the season. There may be some unsightly buildings but every town has some lovely traditional lanes draped in vivid geraniums and bougainvillaea.
Head inland to see the famous Andalusian white villages or the great ravine in Ronda and you soon fall in love with the Costa. There are some excellent hotels and for those who enjoy a round of golf, superb courses for all abilities.
